My name is Andrea Spurdle and I live in one of the most magical beach towns in Southern California. Oceanside is a beautiful coastal quaint beach community where myself, my husband Jesse and our golden retriever and kitty cat live. I have grown in my professional career the most over the past two years working at an awesome creative space with many other talented hair stylists right here in Oceanside. I’ve been a hairdresser since 2017 and love having a career where not only do I get to fire up my creative side, but truly get to know and connect with each of my clients who sit in my chair. I believe this career is so beautiful for many reasons: creativity, friendship, education, inspiration and so much more. 

Why is your blog called “thehaircutgirl”? 

Yep.. not that hard to guess being a hairdresser and all but it started when my friends husband would jokingly ask for haircuts whenever I would come and visit them or if he would come to the salon he would always walk in and say “hey haircut girl!”. That took quite a liking to my other clients over the years and that’s kinda become my alter ego. I take thehaircutgirl persona on wherever I go cause I feel it represents a direct connection to what services I love to offer in my craft. Hair cutting and coloring is my passion. I own a 1990 Westfallia VW Vanagon that I have always thought “thehaircutgirl” would be a cute name for a traveling haircutting business. As of right now my van Loretta will be staying named Loretta but maybe in the future we will start a new business journey together doing traveling cuts!

I created this blog with intentions of sharing helpful hairdressing education and hair inspiration, share my love of fashion, beauty, music, food recipes, mom recommendations and van life. Thanks for following along!
